Tom & Phoebe Clark
Tom and Phoebe Clark's family lived in Little Pee Dee, South Carolina area. They were slaves of a Scottish Family by the name of Clark. The Clarks were members of the Presbyterian Church; hence members of the Tom and Phoebe Clark family were brought up in the Presbyterian faith.

As was the custom during this era, the Tom Clark family was obliged to sit in the gallery. That afforded them the training and teachings of the best-trained minds of the local community.

The plantation on which they lived was located one hundred miles east of Columbia, the Capitol of the state of South Carolina: one hundred forty miles north of Charleston (the chief city), and one hundred miles west of Wilmington, North Carolina.
